R & D AM – N.Sembilan (Ref ID: 12930)

・To use broadly based industrial design skill to design new furniture and related products for industrial, commercial, domestic clients and HQ Japan.
・To assist and manage in management and creation with R&D Team for new concepts and designs or improving existing designs resulting in balance innovative design, functional requirement and aesthetic appeal.
・To evaluate and recommend factors influencing product design such as cost, selection of materials, production methods, new technology, safety, fashion trends, ergonomics, environment, marketing and business strategies.
・To contribute positively towards achieving the departmental objectives, improving the level of efficiency in product realization and utilizing the existing available facilities within the company.
・To provide and manage technical guidance on the design of drawings and detailed diagram of products and performing 3D/2D, fit / clearance and interference.
・To test and research products concept using sketches, prototypes and computer aided design.
・To participate and handle any special projects.
・To ensure the security and confidentiality of documents in relation to product design engineering drawing and control of product design.
・To communicate and liaise with customer and other departments (Production Control, QA, Sales & Production) in product realization.
・To maintain drawing and records pertaining to product design and revision.
・To provide Research & Development (R&D) quality assurance and identify any opportunities for improvement in our product.
・To carry out other additional duties for company when required and directed by superiors.

・Degree in Industrial Design or equivalent.
・At least 3 years’ experience working in Research & Development.
・Must have working experience in furniture design and experience in manufacturing of metal, steel, wood and plastic furniture industries.
・Must have good knowledge of CAD (Solid works) operation skill
・Able to speak & write Japanese Language is an added advantage.
・Able to work independently with minimal supervision
・Must be a creative, motivated and flexible team player; able to carry tasks and projects to completion.
・Must be accurate, details and focus.
・Excellent communication with customer and ability to adapt/respond to different types of characters
